My 2015 iMac does not have iPhoto in the Applications folder, and when I look in the app store for it, I see only 3rd party apps. How can I get it?

You probably can not - and if you can it is not really a good idea since iPhoto is not supported and someday will quit working without warning after some upgrade - and Photos is better (new and different with a learning curve and new work flows but faster, more reliable, much better editing and has a future)
